Lewis
heard the sudden screech of the brakes of the jeep, he rapidly spun around and
drove back towards the jeep. Lewis
pulled over next to the driver’s window in the jeep, Lewis
could see Herbie placing his head on the steering wheel, “yo, what’s the
problem?” Lewis shouted at Herbie, He looked at Lewis with a worried look in
his eyes, Lewis looked across at Lily who was just as confused, then Megan
stepped out of the back seat shouting “how could you forget the baby!?”, Bella
stepped out, “I don’t see you remembering him?” She replied, “you was looking
after him not me” Megan snapped, “we all was” she replied putting her hands on
her head brushing her hair back, “Look let’s not blame each other, it’s not
getting us anywhere” Rob jumped in opening his door and jumping out, “let’s
just go back and get him” he continued, Herbie leant over his shoulder saying,
“hey guys I don’t think I can make it back there, I haven’t got a lot of fuel,
I’m gonna have to stay here while you bring some fuel back, we passed a petrol
station on the way past about 10 minutes ago” “okay ill go with Connor and
we’ll bring back fuel and hopefully the baby” Lily secretly hit Lewis in the
leg, “you can’t go back there, you might not come back, and you can’t leave me
here alone” she said, “don’t worry I’ll be back, I promise” Lewis smiled
grabbing her hand, she smiled worryinglyback at him, she jumped out and walked
over to the jeep, Connor leapt out of the jeep and straight over the boot into
the car, “let’s do this” Connor said admiring the car, “don’t be long” Herbie
said as he climbed onto the roof of the jeep, “we’ll be as fast as we can”
Lewis said putting the car into reverse, he looked into the back window of the
jeep to see a look of fear in Lily’s face, He sighed as he reversed the car
around and drove of back down the road. The group was sweating in the heat of
the glaring sun of the evening, “I can’t stand this heat no more” Rob said wiping
the sweat from his forehead, “I know what ya mean bro, it’s ridiculously hot”
Ritchie agreed, The girls were sat in the boot under the shade of the boot door
open above them, Rob walked over to the bonnet of the jeep and walked up it
joining herbie on the roof who had his t-shirt tied around his waist and his
arm covering his eyes from the light of the sun, “can I tell you something?” Rob asked him, Herbie moved his arm from his eyes,
“yeah sure?” he said sitting up “what’s up mate?” “Well...” Rob sighed,
“there’s something I have to tell you, I can’t keep it a secret no longer” he
continued, “I caught Lewis and Lily making out while you lot were passed out”,
Herbie just looked at him with a straight face waiting for him to continue, “is
that it?” Herbie asked, “Yeah” Rob
answered confusedly, “what does this have to do with me?” Herbie asked him once
again covering his eyes from the sun, “oh well Connor told Lewis that he liked
her, but Lewis had already made out with her”, “so what your saying is you want
me to tell Connor?” he sighed, “oh no, Lewis would kill me if Connor found out,
I just couldn’t handle knowing I’m the only one who knows, ya know what I mean
bro?” Rob asked lying down next to Herbie, “yeah I understand mate” Herbie
reassured him, “I knew It wouldn’t be long before one of us got serious with
one of the girl’s, But I never thought it be this soon” he continued, Rob
looked away thinking whether he should tell him that he likes Bella, “yeah
same” Rob sighed. Meanwhile Lewis and
Connor Were not far from the services, “ya think the baby will be okay?” Connor
asked Lewis, “I got my fingers crossed
but that’s all I can do” Lewis replied
looking across the road to see the petrol station, “shall we get fuel before we
check or what?” Lewis asked slowing
down the car, “probably best to check for the baby first” Connor replied
looking at Lewis who was scratching
his head, “yeah, probably for the best” Lewis
agreed. Lewis and Connor pulled up at the services entrance and slowly parked
right at the entrance, and jumped out over their doors and sprinted in through
the entrance and the ran to the left into the coffee lounge, they could see a
white piece of paper in the middle of the table, but there was no sign of the
baby anywhere.
